WHAT IS ENDURO?
For all who are familiar with motorsport, explaining enduro is pretty simple. You have special stages and transfers. On a special stage, you are racing against the clock, while there is no timekeeping during a transfer. At the end of the weekend, all the stage times are added together and the rider with the lowest overall time wins. At a mountain bike enduro most of the stages are downhill. Some small ramps are part of the game, so is max heart rate. Transfers are usually made by pedal power, sometimes combined with lift supported ascents. For the race at Petzen, the stats say 50 kilometers distance, approx. 1,500 vertical meters of ascent and around 2,500 vertical meters of descent a day. Once a day the riders will happily enjoy the ride on the Petzen gondola.
